The applause was thunderous, echoing through the vast theatre. Every member of the audience was on their feet, cheering and clapping. It seemed as if a herd of elephants was in the room stamping and bellowing. Would the enormous, decorative roof tumble down with all the commotion? Slowly the clapping died down and then the noise stopped. The room became as still as my nervous limbs while everyone waited with immense anticipation for my speech. Anxiously I returned to the stage, enjoying the stillness, feeling thousands of eyes on me like hawks focussed on their prey. Thud!went my heart as I calmly spoke aloud.

100 WC Week 1 - Stage Fright
